Okay.
I like this comic already.
Instead of calling the main character who is seeing something crazy.
The friend actually believes him and thinks the fault's on him.
Yeah, that’s pretty much how I would have reacted in a situation like this, so it made sense to write Ryan like that. I mean, I wouldn’t believe it’s real, but I would genuinely believe the person did see whatever they told me they saw. So the way I would express that would be almost the same as what Ryan does in this page.
There’s a story that I keep telling people, that almost definitely inspired the first few pages of Empty Hallways (even though I wasn’t consciously thinking about it): One day I woke up, and I saw an alien at the foot of my bed; I closed my eyes for a couple of seconds, and when I opened them, it wasn’t there anymore.
Whenever I tell anyone this story, I also make it clear that I don’t believe for a second that the alien was real, I'm sure it was just a hallucination. But, here’s the thing, it is a true story. I am not lying when I say I saw an alien at the foot of my bed, and it does make me mad if someone doesn’t believe me when I tell them that. So, that’s one of the reasons why I think that when someone tells you they’ve seen something you find absurd, you should believe that person. I don’t think anyone is ever lying when they tell these stories about seeing weird things.
