As I promised, here’s a video of me drawing the previous page: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKXleuyHK1k

I’ve been meaning to make a video like this for quite some time, but only recently-ish I got a computer that is good enough to let me record the screen while I’m drawing without becoming unbearably slow.

Oh, hey, I finally revealed the woman’s name! Now I can mention something about Empty Hallways that I kept myself from mentioning since I started publishing it.

Empty Hallways is heavily inspired by the Silent Hill games. Well, by the ones I played at least, which are, in the order in which I played them: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill 4: The Room (which I never finished), and Silent Hill 1.

Of all games in the series, the one that inspired me the most is Silent Hill 3, hence Heather’s name. (Ah, it feels good to finally be able to use her name here.) The choice to give her this name influenced the writing of later events in the story quite a bit, in fact.

With all that said, I believe I should also mention this: all of the games in the series end with a lot of unanswered questions, and pretty much every detail is open to interpretation. The games make no effort to really explain anything, and that is the best thing about those games, in my opinion.

If you ever do find time for Silent Hill, just play the games; the first three ones, more specifically. Everything else isn’t really worth it, anyway. And that is coming from a huge Silent Hill fan.
